Google says that mobile uploads to YouTube have increased by 400% just in a week, thanks to iPhone 3GS’ technology. Looks like mostly iPhone 3GS users are also the big fans of the video-sharing site.

Google has announced that uploads from mobile phones to YouTube have increased by 400% since last Friday, when Apple’s new iPhone 3GS went on sale. The handset lets users shoot video clips and upload them directly to the video-sharing site.

In the last six months, uploads from mobile phones to YouTube have jumped 1,700%; just since last Friday, when the iPhone 3GS came out, uploads have increased by 400%.

Apple released its new iPhone 3GS in Japan on Friday. According to the Asahi Shimbun, more than 200 people lined up at Softbank Mobile Corp.’s Omotesando store in Tokyo.

japan-iphoneThe Japan’s launch is a week after Apple introduced the new iPhone in the United States and Europe.  It’s reported more than 1 million units have been sold in three days.  Softbank, the country’s third largest wireless carrier, is the country’s sole distributor for iPhone.

The new model also went on sale in the same day in Austria, Belgium, Ireland and the Netherlands.

jaadu.pngWith Jugaari’s iPhone apps JaaduRDP Jaadu Remote Desktop and JaaduVNC Jaadu VNC, your desktop or laptop computer is never too far away. Imagine being able to remotely connect to your computer anywhere and anytime. Have you ever forgotten to send a file or an email only to remember once you arrived at your destination? Well, JaaduRDP and JaaduVNC may be the answer to your needs.

Now for a little bit of background: RDP or Remote Desktop Protocol is the method that is used to remotely control Windows-based computers. When you login using RDP, the computer will log any existing users out and allow the RDPer access the system. VNC or Virtual Network Computer is the protocol that allows you to log in to a remote computer while another user is using the computer and control the screen while they use it…Both methods do similar things but take different approaches.

In any case, Jugaari has given iPhone users two solid applications that they can use to do work while away from their desktop. Both versions (JaaduRPD and JaaduVNC) support encryption for safe access to your computer AND support multi-touch gestures.

I also want to commend Jugaari for having an excellent website and tutorials on how to use their excellent product. If you’re interested in JaaduRPD, here’s the site: http://www.jaadurdp.com/ and if you’re interested in JaaduVNC, the site is: http://www.jaaduvnc.com. I know I had mentioned that JaaduVNC was used to access Mac OS computers, however, you can also install a VNC server application on your PC if you only have JaaduVNC.
The only negative aspect I encountered was that the programs allow you to see what you’re typing in on the password fields..this may be a good or bad thing depending on your personal preference..other than that, I really enjoyed these programs. I tried them over the 3G network and I’m pretty sure they would work over EDGE albeit a bit slower..WiFi is amazing as to be expected…
In any case, visit Jugaari’s websites, they’ve done a great job of explaining the configuration and even gone through great lengths to show users how the programs work. Both programs (JaaduRDP and JaaduVNC) are listed in the AppStore for $24.99 and although it may seem high, to myself and many other travelers, it’s a small price to pay for peace of mind.
Watch my video on how these two wonderful applications work:
JaaduVNC
I hope you enjoyed my review of JaaduRDP and JaaduVNC.

Dear first-gen iPhone owner, how badly do you want MMS on your phone? Thanks to hacking community, now you can enjoy MMS capability on your original iPhone with default SMS/MMS app and O.S 3.0!

2g-iphone-mmsGizmodo wrote:

…here we are with a truly integrated MMS experience courtesy of the all-powerful hacking community. Granted, there have been MMS apps available for ages, but there’s a difference: this is the same action 3G and 3GS owners are getting in conjunction with OS 3.0, which Apple curiously decided to hold back from original iPhone owners.

A member of Hacking0sh forum revealed a tip on how MMS on 2G (OS 3.0) with default SMS/MMS app:

  • For install copy mms2g.deb to iphone in folder, for example /var/root
  • Then in same folder (/var/root) in terminal input: dpkg -i mms2g.deb
  • Reboot

or

  • Extract files from Patch.zip to iphone to folders same as arhive. For CommCenter chmod 755.
  • Reboot.

In settings, adjust apn, user, password.

it´s now on cydia: ActivateMMS2G

The white iPhone 3GS reportedly overheats during a period of using the GPS and 3G of the phone, and its case changes color. Engadget says it turns a browner and Gizmodo reports as being pink.

Just discovered an interesting video on iPhone 3GS disassembled process. According to the site, it’s iPhone 3GS comprehensive take apart and repair directions for the touch panel, battery and LCD replacement. “Do not try this at home,” the site warns :-)

Beware. If you brought your iPhone when travelling out of the country, please consider the roaming fees. Let’s learn about Mythbusters co-host Adam Savage case. He was surfing the Internet while on a trip to Canada for a few hours, AT&T charged him for some $11,000! They shut down his service until they get paid.

Adam Savage (@donttrythis), who has more than 57,000 followers on Twitter, tweeted:

Text messaging fees are stupid robbery? (they are), AT&T is attempting to charge me 11k for a few hours of web surfing in Canada. Pls RT!

And then, his next tweet:

Did I mention they’ve turned off my phone until I pay? #attsucks

Jaybird Stereo Bluetooth Headphones & ChargerI’ve been in the market for a pair of Stereo Bluetooth headphones..I’ve looked at and read reviews on headsets by Sony Ericsson, LG, Motorola, Nokia and many many more. I’m looking for something that I can use to listen to music and take calls at the same time, I don’t want to be swapping out my headset for a particular function…I just want one headset to rule them all…

That said, I thought that the Jaybird Stereo Bluetooth headset was just what I wanted…they seemed to be the answer to all my wants in a headset: sweatproof, nice looking, reasonable, long-lasting batterywise and so on.
So, then I started looking online to purchase these…I had made the decision in my mind. What made it even easier was the fact that they were available at Target and more importantly were on sale for $110…it was a no-brainer…
I was stunned by the pack-ins: the charger, extra ear buds, and the build of the actual headset and I even enjoyed the clarity of the music (although it seemed weak on bass and better at treble, now that I think about it)…the voice, was a toss up, some people said I sounded like I was far away, others said I sounded fine. But, then after extended use, that wasn’t the real problem, the real problem was the fit. It not only hurt after extended use, but it made my ears stick out.
I’m telling you, I really really wanted to like this product but compromises to the fit to me is not acceptable especially because this would be my only headset for taking calls and listening to music. Therefore, I’m returning the headset and the search continues…Now, I do want to point out that this headset may fit nicely for some people but I just wasn’t one of those people.
Overall, I’d rate this headset at 80% satisfaction…the reason I’m personally not giving it a higher rating is because it doesn’t fit me quite right. I think that the build quality is excellent for what it’s supposed to do and impressive in it’s own right…
In any case, watch my video review below, Enjoy!
