corecase.pngI have a confession to make, I’m always searching for a better case for my iPhone 3G. At times, I find myself being obsessive…not wanting a case to be too thick, too thin, rubbery or not too rubbery…and to top it off, I like change.

I’ve tried sliders, shell-like back protectors, skins and every one of them has good and bad features. Then, in my relentless pursuit of a case, out of nowhere, comes the CoreCase Aluminum slider.

Like the name suggest, the CoreCase Aluminum slider is a two-piece case that is made out of aluminum and padded on the inside with soft, almost felt-like material. I think that the material inside is of higher quality than felt and the perfect choice for protecting your iPhone from scratches, bumps and falls. Just to give you a quick idea of what the case looks like, I’ve done an unboxing for your viewing pleasure.

So my initial opinion is that this case was very well made and had all of its bases covered. It felt like a strong case, had inner protection and didn’t interfere with normal, day to day iPhone use. I really liked this case and although it added a little bulk, to me the protection was worth every gram. The case didn’t add too much bulk and the case made my phone look sleek..I think a good description would be an iron man-like protection.
So now it’s been a month later, and what do I think? Before I complete my long-term review, I wanted to show you my review half-way into my testing.
Again, I just want to say that this case, in my eyes, has met its mark for so many of it’s features. In other words, its a solid case that has more pros than cons. It will protect your phone fully, both inside and out and is a nice looking case. Things that CoreCases can improve on in the future are: possibly making grips or something on the case to make it easier to grap and possibly changing the latch mechanism..I do think that it may get loose over time and in the month that I was testing the product, it feels like it had to be re-adjusted.
One thing of note, in the latter half of my testing, I actually dropped this case and my iPhone two times and both times the case protected it flawlessly. I do really appreciate this case and think that it does an awesome job at what its supposed to do. I fully endorse this case to anyone who is willing to trade protection for a little heft.
This is a good case, good job CoreCases keep up the good work! You’ve got my vote.
