Low application prices has been heralded as one of the strongest virtues of Apple’s iPhone. This hasn’t stopped customers from going bargain-hunting and in the current economic climate no-one wants to pay more than needed. This is why iPhone Developer Nor Eagle today announced that subscribers of their upcoming newsletter will have the chance to win copies of Nor Eagle’s apps.

“We’ve always been giving away a few free apps for promotional purposes whenever we’ve released a new title,” said T. Benjamin Larsen, Nor Eagle’s CEO. “We will still be doing this through our traditional channels, but feel it is only fair to reward those who follow us.” While some would claim that the world needs another newsletter like people need a third nostril; Larsen expressed his own perspective on the idea: “We know that if we spam people they will just stop subscribing. The idea is to give people a peak behind the scenes. Let them catch a glimpse of the creative process and how iPhone games are actually made. I think a lot of people will find some entertainment value in that.”

Nor Eagle is currently working on their next title but were unwilling to share any news at this time. “We are approaching beta-status and expect to have an announcement up as early as next week. We are considering getting external beta-testers as we feel this might be a necessity in order to make the game as good as it can be. We have high hopes for this one, but don’t we always!?” he finished laughingly, perhaps referring to their last title “Fumbers” who has sold less than 100 copies worldwide since it release nearly six months ago.
