A second beta release of iPhone Software 3.0 is being released with the essential Push Notification Service. The release is being labeled iPhone OS BETA 2 build 7A259.

Main factors are the server side for the Push Notifications feature will be opened gradually to developers. Push Notifications are Apple’s way to have Apps keeping track of changes in the background. Apple is not doing real background processes because of battery life concerns. Technical information will reportedly appear in a App Store Kit reference guide. More detailed information on how to build in-app purchasing functionality into their existing or future applications.
It has been reported that BETA 2 of the iPhone 3.0 OS is running faster than BETA 1. A few bugs seen previously have also been fixed. Another series of changes were reportedly documented alongside the release of a new version of the iPhone SDK also released Tuesday. Some specific components that received attention were GameKit, Bluetooth, MapKit, Fonts, the messaging user interface and text fields.
