Many people listen to their iPods and iPhones in their cars. But now the majority of new cars made in the U.S. have iPhone and iPod integration. To be exact, 58% of cars now offer support.

Since the iPod has become like the Kleenex–you know, brand name replacing the device itself, i.e. MP3 player and tissue?–it makes sense integration would be on the minds of many auto makers.
iPhone and iPod integration makes it much easier to control your tunes while in your vehicle. Things like integration with the car stereo’s controls, steering wheel controls and more do more to keep your eyes on the road, too.

I think it´s good that cars are taking this technology into account when making their new models. Ipods, to me are still hugely modern and to think about cars that are “ipod ready” is particularly space age. I´ll look forward to the day when I can afford such a car.
