The internet is abuzz with news that Apple may soon be allowing multiple third-party applications to run on the iphone at once. If you recall, when the iPhone was introduced, Apple had said that in September 2008, a service called PNS or Push Notification Service would be introduced so that apps could get a users attention if need be. Almost half a year later, and Apple still hasn’t brought us PNS…we think that the G1 and the upcoming Palm Pre has made Apple think twice about its strategy and will soon allow third-party applications to run in the background.

Many in the know say that background processing will be in the next iPhone OS release, but when that will be is less widely known… I do hope the update’s on it’s way as we haven’t had a big OS release in a while and the competition is gearing up for battle…
Well, if nothing else, the upcoming months will be very exciting indeed with the Pre slated to come out sometime in June…and the next release of the iPhone suspected around that time too…but for now, keep coming back for reviews and industry information..
