Telefonica and Yahoo! partner for global mobile services. Coming to iPhone on O2?
Telefónica has announced a deal with Yahoo! have announced a partnership which will see over 100 million mobile customers gani access to Yahoo!’s oneSearch mobile search product.
Specifically designed for mobile devices, oneSearch delivers search results directly in the first screen, removing the need for consumers to navigate through links to find relevant information. oneSearch gives access to news, financial information, weather conditions, Flickr photos, web images, and web and mobile web sites.
What will be interesting is whether O2, Telefónica’s presence in the UK, will roll this service out to the iPhone when it launches next month. A bit of healthy competition with Google, whose products are laden onto the iPhone, will surely go down well with consumers.
According to Yahoo!’s US site, oneSearch will work on the iPhone. The Flickr upload service certainly sounds interesting.
